Enhance Your Photography Skills: Exploring the Victoria Memorial Through Time
Introduction
Being an amateur passionate photographer is a journey of continuous learning and exploration. It's not just about the equipment you use, but also about the perspective you develop over time. I have found that visiting the same historical architectural marvel, such as the Victoria Memorial in Kolkata, at different times and seasons, has significantly contributed to my growth as a photographer.
The key lesson that I learned through this process is the importance of exploring the same place at different times and seasons. A winter morning casts a different spell on the Victoria Memorial than a winter night or a rainy day with its natural reflections. Similarly, the monument takes on an entirely different character during sunset, each moment offering a fresh opportunity to capture its timeless charm.
(i) Get the Basics Right:
First things first, understand how to frame your shots, what kind of lighting works best, and how to find the right perspective for your photos.
(ii) Capture Different Moods:
Try taking pictures of the same place at different times of the same or a different day. Capture the warm colors of sunrise, the magical hues of sunset, and the bright light of the day. Each moment has something special to offer.
(iii) Enjoy the Seasons:
Don't miss the chance to take photos in different seasons. Click the blooming flowers in spring, the sunny vibes of summer and the colorful leaves of autumn.
(iv) Use the Weather:
Don't let the weather hold you back. Experiment with capturing reflections during rain. Bad weather can sometimes make for the best photos!
(v) Try Different Angles:
Don't be afraid to try different angles. Take some shots up close to capture the details, or step back for a wider view. Play around with your perspective and see what works best for you.
